About Apex Upholstery
(by people who should know!)

Enough of what we have to say about ourselves – here is a sampling of the feedback we have had from clients and contractors:

Hi Nathan,

You know earls is a service-based company, and so, we like to think we know great service when we see it.

You have been more than helpful and accommodating of us every time we have dealt with you. This is why the relationship between earls and Apex has existed for 20+ years, and likely why Apex is so successful.

Thank you very much for your help!

    • To Whom it May Concern:

I have been in the Food Service and Hospitality Industry in Alberta and Canada for over 35 years. I was the General Manager of Food Services for Edmonton Northlands for over 20 years, handling all food & beverage services in buildings like Northlands Park Racetrack, Rexall Place and the AgriCom as well as other smaller facilities.

On a volunteer basis I have served as President of the Alberta Restaurant and Foodservices Association (ARFA) twice in the 80’s and 90’s and been a Director with the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) for over 12 years. I also served as the Chairman of the Board of the CRFA for 2 years in 1994 and 1995.

My wife and I also owned Tender Heart Child Care Center in Edmonton for over 20 years.

I first met John and Monica Neuman in the mid eighties and purchased from them various booths, tables, chairs etc for Northlands. I was always happy and made to feel that my needs were their needs.

About the same time my wife Dolores and I were starting up Tender Heart Child Care Center and needed 80 sleeping mats for the children. I told John how important it was that these mats were of high quality and would allow the children to sleep on them comfortably. John and his team produced the mats and when we sold Tender Heart recently (some 21 years later) those very same mats were still being used.

In 2004 I purchased Lavtor Holdings (Alberta) Ltd. a company that owned and operated 8 Smitty’s Family Restaurants in Edmonton, St. Albert, and Red Deer. Over the past 5 years, we have grown the company to now have 10 Smitty’s and one other Restaurant (Tyson’s Grill – Beverly Crest Travelodge Hotel). I have had the privilege of using Apex a number of times (I think 5 in total) as we renovate and build new locations.

John and Monica’ s Team, including son Ryan, Sales Mgr Brent Bell and Production team of Tom and others have met every need we have defined. Those who know me, know that I am a very fussy person and Apex has had to “bend over backwards” at times to meet my needs. They have always done so with a smile on their face.

Another important matter to me is price and value. I shop extensively and Apex has always come close to my best quotes and each time I use their services, they have always given me top quality workmanship and product.

I heartily recommend APEX UPHOLSTERY for any of your booth, bench seating, other upholstery or table and chair needs.

If you have any questions, I would be happy to speak to you, I suggest you email me at dsroka@srokagroup.com.

Dear Lou,
We had been talking about updating or replacing our chairs and boothing in the lounge, when you contacted me through e-mail.
After discussing the options with you, we decided our best option was to recover the existing chairs/boothing and to replace the foam as you suggested.  The 70 chairs were completed in 2 trips to ensure we continued to have chairs for our clients.
We experienced one concern during the entire process that was addressed at once and completed to our satisfaction.  This project for me will be the start of a long-lasting partnership with Apex Upholstery and Lou Proctor.
We are very pleased with the service and attention to our concerns.  We wish to extend our sincerest appreciation to Lou Proctor.
